Alone, I find myself in a waking dream
Looking out from the inside it seems
A prisoner of my heart, inside I sleep
Mourning the loss of a friend I weep
It happened long ago in death he was taken
Since that time I am unable to awaken
Feels like forever I have been in this state
Closing my eyes laden with tears in darkness I wait
My sentence I have served many years
When all at once a whisper came to my ears
Speaking in words so soft and pure
He told me of all things that endure
Smiling I feel a stirring in my heart
It's like his words give light to the dark
Opening my heart with the new found key
Forever granting my soul amnesty
Hope this dream stays with me now
Forever.................
